High CVSS 7.8

Overview

NVIDIA vGPU software for Linux-style hypervisors contains a vulnerability in the Virtual GPU Manager, where a malicious guest could cause stack buffer overflow. A successful exploit of this vulnerability might lead to code execution, denial of service, escalation of privileges, information disclosure, or data tampering.

Risk analysis

This vulnerability is rated 🟠 HIGH.

  • CVSS: 7.8 (HIGH)
  • Detected tags: buffer, dos, info_leak (tag impact: VERY HIGH)

Recommended actions:

  • Rate limiting, resource quotas and circuit breakers.
  • Reduce verbose errors, remove debug endpoints, minimize PII in logs.
  • Patch/upgrade immediately (remote code execution).
  • Reduce exposure (WAF/segmentation), minimize attack surface.
